Burmese Pythons

The Burmese python is one of the largest snakes on Earth, reaching up to 23 feet in length and 200 pounds in weight.

These pythons are non-venomous and kill their prey by constriction. They are carnivorous and feast on mammals, birds, and even other reptiles/amphibians.

Although they are native to Southeast Asia, they are invasive in Florida. There have been many purposeful and accidental releases.

The Burmese python is a solitary animal that only mates in the spring. The female incubates her eggs by shivering her muscles.
